Who we are

At Sprout’s Arabic our vision is to utilise the power of the Early Years to support children’s life-long development and well-being. Our vision is for a setting that meets children’s emotional, physical, educational, spiritual and racial needs.

Our aim is to create a safe environment that nurtures and empowers children to have pride in their Islamic identity and to have their Islamic and cultural values validated and reflected to them. Our aim is to celebrate the diverse culture of modern Wales and help children develop a sense of cynefin. Our vision is for a setting that has anti-racism woven throughout, from its inception. From representation amongst staff (including Leadership staff), to placing value on bilingualism and multilingualism that explicitly includes languages from the Global South.

Our setting is a carefully prepared environment that provides

  • A carefully prepared Montessori environment

  • a language rich, bilingual environment for children to thrive in, with Arabic rhymes, movement games, outdoor games and story time.

  • creating positive, fun experiences with the Arabic language that allows children to create a positive association with Arabic. We aim for this to create a bond with Arabic in the ever-important Early Years.

  • An ever growing, fun and diversity filled Arabic library

  • Opportunities to practice and learn practical life skills that contribute to their overall self-esteem, confidence and independence

  • Outdoor learning

  • Promoting positive behavior

  • An Islamic ethos that promotes values such as “good Manners”, “excellence”, “ambition”, “respect” and “cultivating good character”
